Shakema Cyrus is a NYC native and Lifestyle Enthusiast. From an early age, she discovered a keen sense of creativity and style and was sculptured and nourished in a Caribbean household. Her rich family traditions mixed with a uniquely diverse community upbringing has taught her how to balance and appreciate the world around her. This world included a love of different type of fashion, music, food, dance and culture. As she matured, this love has turned into a passion- A passion that has led her to travel around the world and be a millennial creative in today’s society.

In 2016, Shakema started her first business Gem Cosmetics LLC where she launched her own cosmetic line and was heavily involved in the beauty industry. It wasn’t until 2017 when Shakema decided to put her business down, listen to God and follow her purpose. With ties to many industries, endless supporters and a passion for helping young women and seasoned women, Shakema knew that it was time for a change and decided to make the bold move of creating The Gem Experience. 

Shakema wanted to create a platform where she was able to share her insight on the many industries in which she is passionate about and proud to be apart of on a daily basis. She also realized that she became a mentor and major influence in the lives of young women and many of her supporters. 

As Shakema continues to climb the ladder of success she hopes to inspire, encourage, and support others in the area of entrepreneurship. She is determined to carve a path for other women to follow and wants to help everyone find their- Gem Experience.
